In 2007, model and influencer Coursaris Musunka used her platform to set up, Malaika, which aims to empower Congolese women and girls through education and health programmes.
“When you come from the modelling industry, you need to prove that your project is credible,” she says. “I never took no for an answer.”

What’s the secret to shifting a career successfully? “Get your eight hours’ sleep every night. You need to be at the top of your game when you’re learning new things and developing in your new career.”
